We started out with a game where 1 red circle at a time would be shown to the students. The students would then have to count each black dot that they see and show us how many dots by using only their fingers. This really gets the students thinking of a variety of ways they can show each number! We talked about many different ways each number can be shown, for example: 5 can be shown using all 5 fingers on one hand, or 3 fingers and then 2 fingers on the other hand. The students really came up with some neat suggestions to show each number!
"Penny the Pig" This is a game that was created for the students to have fun while learning! The students enjoyed "feeding" Penny the Pig who loves to eat Numbers! This game has a little poem that goes like this: "Penny the Pig loves to play in the gooey mud all day, come and help her roll around by yelling which number you see on the ground" Once the game ended, some of the students had inspiration to make their own "Penny the Pigs" along with their own number cards!

Angela enjoying her turn with "Penny the Pig" Junior Kindergartens started with Numbers 1-10 and Senior Kindergartens started with Numbers 10-20.
The Book: "Zero" by Kathryn Otoshi created lots of discussion and number recognition with the students!
