Salad anyone?

Well, our little garden produced enough lettuce for everyone to have a bit of salad. Each of the students got to go and pick some lettuce and a few radishes.

We then washed and chopped.
Then we got to eat it...yum! It was so fun growing our own food

Grade one...here we come!

Our seniors went for a visit to the grade one class with Madame Gibson. We had lots of fun looking at the classroom, sitting at desks and making a kite craft.

Beekeeper visit

We had a beekeeper presentation yesterday afternoon. She was a wealth of knowledge, teaching us all about how bees make honey.
This is a big piece of honeycomb inside a frame.
This was a life cycle of the bee, they had to put it in the right order.
The coolest thing was a frame of live bees we got to look at.

Art in the Park

What a beautiful day we had. The sun was shining upon us and we enjoyed a variety of activities.
We played with “goop”.
We used the musical instruments making amazing songs.
We did some painting.
We had a lot of fun playing in the water centre.
We made up some puppet plays.
Some of our students became interested in conducting surveys, asking his or her friends if they liked something specific.
Some of us even enjoyed our snacks and lunches outdoors. A lovely day enjoyed by all!

Fire fighters come for a visit

Today, our firefighters came for a visit! They talked to us first about all the equipment a firefighter must wear.
Mr. Burke talked about how every family should make a safety plan in the unlikely event of a fire, and showed us in the book where we could draw it out! (He told us it was our homework!)
Then we talked about what to do if our clothes ever caught on fire...stop, drop and roll!
We were really looking forward to going out and seeing all the trucks.
We saw all the equipment on the tank truck.
Then we watched the ladder truck raise the ladder!
And we got to see all the cool gear!

We all got a chance to sit inside it!

Taking our babies outside

Recently we took our new ducklings outdoors. They were so much fun nibbling, then running towards us as we sat in a circle. We took our water table and filled it with water. It was incredible watching them for their first swim!
