What a day!

Our senior kindergartens arrived today. In both the English and French classes the day was progressing extremely positively. The students in both classes were engaged in a variety of activities. We just sat down to enjoy our second nutrition break when the fire alarm sounded. Thank heavens the senior kindergartens recalled the sound and procedure from last year. As it was not a scheduled fire alarm, we had to wait for the fire trucks to arrive. After quite some time (and some rumbling tummies), we were allowed to re enter the school, only to have the fire alarm sound two more times. By the time we were allowed into the school, it was almost 3:50, and dismissal is 3:45. We rushed everyone to get their bags packed, shoes away, and on to their awaiting buses. We were SO proud of the students. They did extremely well amidst all the chaos, and there were very few complaints, despite being tired, hungry and extremely hot. As teachers, we didn't even have the opportunity to let them know what troopers they'd been. What a great first impression of Senior Kindergarten! We really hope that they'll want to come back tomorrow!
