They got to listen to some books, then got them moving and shaking.
Meanwhile, some students made their own scarves. They seemed pretty excited to wear their new scarves...hopefully you’ve seen them!
Once finished, they measured them.
Each child got to go outdoors and try out some snowshoeing. This was something new for many.
Our parent helper Vicki gave us some “woozles” (coloured pipe cleaners) . They were asked to hide their woozle on a tree, then try to find other people’s woozle! The end result was a discussion about what colours were easiest to find and how colours impacted forest animals.
Then, each student was given a coloured card and instructed to find colours in nature that matched their card.
They were having so much fun with these games, several students asked me when they were going to go snowshoeing!
We then came back in and enjoyed some hot chocolate and some students even got to see what old snowshoes looked like.
Thank you to everyone who made our day eventful and fun-filled!
