As you can tell, it is well loved!
There is a large pumpkin, and the witch can not pick it herself. A ghost, a vampire, and a mummy come and each take a turn to attempt to pick it, with no success. Finally, a little bat comes along and suggests that they all work together and of course, they are able to pick the pumpkin. We act it out together and then give the students the opportunity to retell it later with a small group.
Many of our friends also enjoyed making a “story necklace” and retelling the story.
