Rainbow chips

We told a story about how we saw a rainbow and instead of all the colours fading, they crumbled and fell to the ground. I quickly gathered them up and they became my rainbow chips! I gave each child two chips (paint chips) and we went out in nature to find that particular colour. It is a gimmick to ensure the students look carefully at their surroundings and see the remarkable variation in colour but also the beauty.
Yellow like a dandelion!

Brown like the bark!

Who knew that a rock could look so blue?

Dandelion fluff is white!

Look at the colour of the dandelion stem!

Grass seeds can be yellow!

The sumac stem was burgundy!

The lichen is blue/green!

Colour is everywhere!
