We then went for a walk with a focus of listening for various sounds. Each Jk and SK pair had a clipboard and a pencil and a checklist.
Sometimes, they heard sounds that weren’t on the checklist, such as a motorcycle and kids playing, and a jet so they had to add them to their checklist. Both classes got to hear the sound of the spring peepers-tiny frogs that are harbingers of spring!
Later, we have brainstormed for some of the sounds and we heard. The kids made their own “sound wheel”.
We’ll take a walk on our next English day with our sound wheel, and recording what we heard this time!
