Fire Prevention & Education!

Fire Fighters!

We had some fire fighters come into the school today to do some fire prevention and education with the children. The kids got a group presentation in their classrooms this morning and talked about fire safety. We encourage you to ask your child some of the things he/she learnt today at school.

The children got to go outside and learn different parts on a fire truck!

Then we got to line up and each take a turn sitting inside the fire truck! This was a BIG hit! The children LOVED it!

We even got some nice dandelions too while we waited:)

Notice Regarding Field Trip & Flooding

This is the notice that was sent home today if you did not receive it!

Dear Parents,

We are going to have a busy day outside tomorrow for our field trip to Valley View Farm. Please ensure your child is dressed for the cold weather. That would include a warm jacket, rain boots, a warm hat, something for their hands and splash/wind pants if possible. Please also send their normal lunch and a water bottle. If your child receives hot lunch on Tuesday they will get their hot lunch when we return to school at 2:00 pm.

If you have limited access to warm clothes due to flooding, please tell us and we will find extra clothes. As well, if you have limited access to food, cooking facilities, or other flooding challenges please inform us and the school will do what it can to provide support, including providing lunches.

Thank you,

The Kindergarten Team

*For anymore concerns about flooding purposes or if we can help your family in anyway please let us know! There is lots of support at the school right now for the children and their families.

Magic Potions!

 Magic Potions Anyone?!

The students have recently been interested in our science table discovering bottles! They have been pretending and using them as magic potions during their free play. We decided that it would be fun to have the students create their very own magic potions!

We had a variety of materials out so the students could mix together their own potions! Salt, vinegar, baking soda, dish soap, lemon juice, glitter, etc. They really enjoyed seeing what all the materials did when they were mixed together.

A Cute Little Visitor!

HOP........HOP.......HOP.......HERMAN The Bunny was Here!

We had a cute little visitor that came to school and visited with the green group before the Easter long weekend! Herman the bunny was super friendly and excited to meet all the children:)

Herman was so relaxed around the kids he decided to stretch out and lay down!

Herman getting a hug from Eva

We had many great questions from the children such as:
"Does the bunny walk standing up?"
"What does the bunny eat?"
"Where did you get the bunny?"

Ewen and Madame Gallant were experts on answering all their questions!

Thanks for visiting us Herman:) And thanks Ewen and Madame Gallant for sharing Herman with us!
